Facebook, Twitter, Myspace and LinkedIn are Under Control Now

Social media and social networks

Social media and social networks

Hey guys,

Hope you are doing great! AtomPark Software Inc proudly announces a new 4.1 version of StaffCop – corporate data security and data loss prevention software to monitor staff’s workstations, PCs and laptops.

Social networks and social media websites, such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, MySpace, are becoming more and more popular nowadays affecting each and every business niche – employers are wasting precious time visiting social networks to have a chat with friends, play games, share media, etc. Social network is the most dangerous data leakage channel because of its huge auditory and low privacy and security level. Employers may disclose corporate secrets, transfer or share sensitive corporate data by publishing job-related photos, videos and other media.

Corporate Security 2011 – Data Leakage Increased 33% in 2010. 3 Tips to Prevent Data Loss.

Data Loss Prevention Tips

Data Loss Prevention Tips

Each record lost, according to the Ponemon Institute, costs, on average, $204 to recover. Lose 1000 records (considered a very small breach), and you are suddenly out $204,000! According to the same study, the average cost for a business to recover from a data breach is $6.75 Million. The average cost to implement identity theft, social engineering and data breach training? In most cases, less than $50,000.

The causes are generally simple: perhaps your corporate  data security software and firewalls need updating; employees haven’t been properly trained to destroy sensitive documents they no longer need; executives are surfing on unprotected wireless in airports and hotels; sales teams are gearing up social networking strategies that accidentally release confidential or proprietary information. Whatever the cause, companies and business owners must to step up in 2011.

Check 3 Tips to prevent data loss below.

Corporate Data Security 2010 – StaffCop version 4.0 is OUT NOW!

StaffCop - Corporate Security and Data Loss Prevention Solution

StaffCop - Corporate Security and Data Loss Prevention Solution

StaffCop is a corporate and personal data security solution providing effective technology features that allow you to keep sensitive data safe, track time and monitor PC activities on the network. StaffCop can be used on a corporate network of any size as well as on a single individual PC. Let’s see what’s new in StaffCop 4.0!

Social Network monitoring and control added. Now it is possible to track and monitor private messages, posts and status updates in such social networks as Facebook, Twitter(for US market), VK.com, Odnoklassniki (for Russian market). Now you gain access to staffs’ communications via social networks as it is one of the most popular ways to transfer stolen sensitive corporate data.

Search Term monitoring added as a separate module. Now you are able to check what is staff searching for in such search engines as Google, Yahoo, Bing, ASK (for US market), Yandex, Rambler, Mail.ru, Aport, BigMir (for Russian market).

The whole StaffCop’s code architecture is changed. By adding easy-to-use filters it became possible to see saved data about all actions taken by staff during longer periods of time. In new StaffCop 4.0 it is possible to search and filter all tracked information in real-time, no only in reports as it was before.

It is possible to create reports in .PDF format in new StaffCop’s Scheduler. This makes reports more organized and easier to use, i.e. printing .pdf report files is easier and faster than other format report files.

Agent-connection errors (when too many connections were established between agents with admin panel) are fixed.

Monitoring system now works even faster! This reduced the whole system load during data harvesting and analyzing.

Corporate Security 2010 – Data Loss Prevention Statistics and Trends for 2010-2011

Corporate Security 2010 - Trends and Statistics for 2010-2011 - Next Big Threat

Corporate Security 2010 - Trends and Statistics for 2010-2011 - Next Big Threat

Hi guys! Corporate Data Security and Data Loss Prevention statistics shock us everytime we got new reports. But every shock brings us closer to the creation of the perfect DLP and corporate security solution. That’s how we are upgrading our StaffCop and Security Curator software. This time we got “2010 CDW Security Straw Poll: Data Loss Is Corporate Enemy Number One” report and here comes the digits.

The majority of medium and large businesses have dedicated IT security support in place, but nearly all see room for improvement in their business’ IT defenses

  • 83 percent say a variety of events or inputs would compel them to increase their budgets for network security and threat prevention
  • Only 17 percent say explicitly that nothing could compel their business to invest more for a higher level of security and threat prevention
  • Fully 18 percent say that only a significant breach of their systems would compel an escalation of security investment at their business
  • However, 39 percent say that an assessment of their systems pointing out real vulnerabilities would lead to additional investment

Looking ahead, data loss emerges as the number one cybersecurity challenge according to IT managers

  • Data loss from internal threats, negligence and/or accidents was rated the “next big threat” by 37 percent of respondents, revealing that human factors are the greatest challenge
  • One-fourth of respondents identified “evolved forms of current threats” as their top future challenge, suggesting they are still struggling with threats for which there are proven solutions
  • Despite high-profile news coverage of botnet attacks, botnets showed as the top concern of only 14 percent of respondents
