Top 6 Dangers of Facebook Marketing

Facebook Marketing

Facebook Marketing

Hey  guys, we all know that social media is the best traffic-generator for last few years and Facebook is the Top 1 in the social network list, because of its advertising platform, groups, fan-pages and more than 500 million active users (half a billion!). I bet every average company has a fan-page or group on Facebook to post updates, generate traffic and drive leads to its websites. Everything is looking great, BUT there are 6 dangers of Facebook Marketing I would like to talk about – you will realize that your company’s page or group is so unstable on Facebook. Let’s start.

1.) Facebook is your  “master”. Each and every fan page or group is assigned to a user. Once you create a group or fan page – you become its administrator. Sounds good? Just imagine that you leave a company and all the groups and pages you created for your company is still assigned to your profile. If you remove your profile all pages and groups also go away. Still sounds good? When an account is disabled (closed actually), all of its pages, groups, content, applications, and ads are lost.

2.) Facebook can change features anytime. Facebook may disable an account without warning and Facebook also has control over when to change its layout, application programming interface, or setup. You won’t be asked about it – you will have to rebuild you applications, renew your page or group content and so on.

3.) There is no phone or email support. There is no phone number or email address to contact a facebook representative, even if you are spending thousands of dollars on their Ads.

Canadian Anti-Spam Act 2011 – Spam Can Cost You Millions of Dollars

Canadian anti-spam act 2011

Canadian anti-spam act 2011

Spam is bad, let’s face it! So new Canadian anti-spam law could cost violators up to $10 million, as said by ItBusiness.ca

Private persons violating the law could be fined a maximum penalty of $1 million, while companies and organizations could be charged up to $10 million.

While Bill C-28, or the Fighting Internet and Wireless Spam Act, received royal assent on December 15, the report says the new law will  be enforced in approximately 6 months from now.

Email marketing and security specialist are sure that this law will not stop the most cruel way of spamming people – bot-net spam.

And what is the most important tip and trick for private persons and companies who run email marketing campaigns – DO NOT BUY EMAIL LISTS, ’cause there’s no purchased list that’s considered 100 per cent clean and safe to email and you do have the potential to be taken to court. This is the main reason why most ESPs specify in their terms that lists must be opt-in/double opt-in only and if you are caught using a non-opt-in list many ESPs will terminate your account immediately.

Email Marketing 2011 – Timing and Sharing Techniques

Timing techniques

Timing techniques

Hey guys,

Here are some great techniques on how to set right timing for your email campaign messages to encourage your subscribers to share them via all kinds of social media channels (like Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, and much more). On the one hand – it’s all about content, but it’s not! It’s more about the way and a time you send your messages. Please read more for 3 timing and sharing techniques of email marketing in 2011.

1. Think about things from your subscriber’s perspective: This is marketing 101 but it’s especially important when getting your messages out at the right time. Think about who the message is going to and what the message is suggesting. For example, sending a business related offer on a Saturday night isn’t going to get you much response or shares on the social networks. Time your messages for when your prospects are not only likely to check email but likely to take action on it as well.

2. Send messages consistently: Consistent messages sent at the same basic time each week or each month will help your audience know what to expect. Picture it this way – if Jack Customer likes your content and shares it on Twitter one week, he’ll be looking for your content the next week so he can do the same. In time, your audience will come to look forward to your messages as a source of social media content.

3. Survey your customers for better timing: We often say that each email marketing list is different, but you won’t know how different until you ask. Consider running a poll that includes questions about their email usage and social media usage. You can use the feedback in order to time your email messages better.
