Bringing Dead Email Subscribers to Life – 3 Strategies

    dead subscriberHey guys,

Hope you're doing great! We all know how each subscriber is important and how it's sad to find "dead" (inactive) subscribers on your list. Some email marketers just delete them from the list, it's not so bad, but it's always possible to bring some of inactive subscribers to life and increase your list of active recipients. We do not support deleting inactive subscribers as it's always worth bringing them back to your list. I would like to provide you with 3 strategies on reviving your dead subscribers. Let's start!

    Strategy 1. The Cut-off.

This is simple and straight strategy. All you need to do is to send the notification to all your inactive subscribers and ask them to join your list once again. Also mention that they will miss all your great content and offers and bonuses unless they click a link and re-join your list. This allows to easily determine most active subscribers among the dead ones :)

    Strategy 2. The Survey.

Survey is a great tool, I still think that it's extremely underestimated. People love survey, because we all believe our opinion matters and someone really cares about it. Surveys have two good sides - first on is that they remind your subscriber that he's inactive and is missing all the interesting stuff out, second - if they realize that they are inactive and want to unsubscribe you will receive a valuable input on what was wrong with your content or approach and why they unsubscribed.

    Strategy 3. The Offer.

This is my favorite one. This is the easiest and best-working strategy, but only if you follow one rule - you need to provide each inactive subscriber with the right offer. What does it mean? We all are different, so are our needs and wishes. You need to find the best free offer (bonus, discount, etc) for each and every of your inactive subscriber. Here few examples:

    • If your subscribers have shown a tendency to prize information, then the offer of a free e-book download, a report, whitepaper, guide, or other in-depth document might bring them back to the fold.
    • However, if your subscribers are more interactive, offer a free game, video, or app.
    • And if your company has a location near your subscribers, set up a special event and provide them with free tickets.

Notifications to dead subscribers can be automatically sent with the help of Email Autoresponder or Email Sending software
